United Community Nepal (UniCoN) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit social organization founded by a group of young professionals during covid-19 pandemic in 2020 as a response to the inadequate social protections for vulnerable population groups. UniCoN was formally registered in March 2022 at the Kaski District Administration Office with Registration No. 4442 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council in Kathmandu with Affiliation No. 53686.
We primarily serve economically, socially, politically, and culturally marginalized communities by providing resources and opportunities to improve their quality of life. We have increasingly integrated ‘Technology and Innovation’ into our operations and research, as well as in the development of evidence-based policies and programs.
"We believe we are UNIQUE organization as we try our best to bring Women, Children, Community, Culture and Innovation together to create a brighter tomorrow. We also believe that when marginalized women, young girls and children are UNITED through education, their families and communities will flourish."
UniCoN envisions a society where every individual, regardless of their background, has access to opportunities that empower them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
It aims to create transformative change for disadvantaged and stigmatized communities by expanding access to employment, civil rights, equality education, and sustainable livelihoods.
To strengthen the capacity of the most advantaged, underserved, and vulnerable populations, especially women, children, dalits, and people living in remote geographic areas, through learning opportunities that integrate culture, innovation, and economy for a brighter and sustainable future.
By 2030, we aim to improve living conditions and create opportunities for at least 10,000 marginalized and stigmatized women and children through our powerful programs and services.
United Community Nepal operates through its central office in
Pokhara, Nepal (Bishal Marga, Pokhara 33700).
Currently, we operate in four districts (Kaski, Syangja, Okhaldhunga, and Jajarkot) within Gandaki, Koshi, and Karnali Provinces of Nepal.
Through our inclusive and participatory approach, we try our best to address Micro, Mezzo, and Macro issues faced by the communities: by identifying needs and priorities, promoting community-led and community engagement initiatives and advocating for rights and policy changes that promote social and economic equity through education and community development.
