Listening, Learning, and Leading Change from Within
The ARC Project, supported by the Global Fund for Children (GFC), works with two disadvantaged communities of Pokhara — Pulchowk (Simaltuda) and Aaran Danda — to address the root causes of social and economic marginalization. These communities face persistent challenges such as caste-based discrimination, unemployment, and gender inequality that limit participation and unity.
Using the SALT approach (Stimulate, Appreciate, Listen, and Transfer), ARC encourages reflection, dialogue, and collaboration. It helps communities recognize their own strengths, share experiences, and take collective action toward change.
So far, the project has engaged 149 households, built trust among marginalized groups, and strengthened confidence and belonging among women and youth.
